2024 Word: Simplicity

I am a little late to the game this year on this blog. But every year instead of goals for myself, I choose a theme word to hold myself accountable for during the year. Having one word is tangible but gives me enoughs structure to know where I want to be this year. Past years words:

• 2019 was “Magic”

• 2020 was “Patient” (this is still funny to me)

• 2021 was “Content”

• 2022 was “Build”

• 2023 was “Celebrate

For 2024, I chose “Simplicity”. In a world full of people telling you, “you deserve more” and “if you want it, you should get it”, I want to keep my life and my vision simple. I don’t think consumerism is what we’re called for in this world. I love “things” don’t get me wrong. But at what point do we have enough? The media tells us what we need in our home and in our lives but how much of it is true? I chose the word “Simplicity” for my 2024 theme word because I want to counteract that. Less IS more. Less CAN still make you happy.

This doesn’t mean I don’t have big goals for myself, my family and my business. This means that I am striving for simple goals and I am trying to loose all of the fluff that the world is telling me to have. I am excited for this year as my family is growing and my son is getting into the true toddler years. I can’t wait to look back and see how this theme affects how I live my year!
