How to Choose a Photographer - DFW Senior Photographer

Choosing A photographer can be overwhelming. There are so many great photographers in the area so where do you even begin on choosing the best one for you? Priorities are different for everyone if you’re in the market for hiring a photographer. I am going to give you a few tips to help you figure out what your priorities are and how to find them.

#1 - How many outfits are you wanting? πŸ‘— Are you someone who wants five outfits to choose from? Are you looking for just one solid outfit for your photos? Knowing this will help your photographer plan and price the photoshoot. Obviously, the more outfits the more expensive but the options are worth it sometimes!

#2 β€” Budget. What is your budget? Going into it, do you have a good idea of what photographers charge? Photographers are always more expensive than you may expect. They to have to pay taxes, pay rent, pay bills, subscriptions, equipment and so forth. Photographers do a lot of pre-and-post prep that you never even see. So when asking if photographer about their prices, be respectful and understanding. Hear them out on why they charge what they charge. If they are good at what they do, they will be worth what they charge.

#3 β€” What do you want out of the session? Are you wanting just digitals? Are you wanting fine prints? Are you wanting albums? Are you wanting someone to just show up on the day of your session and shoot or are you wanting someone to specifically prepare and prep you for your photoshoot? Prints are expensive, but digitals are more expensive.

These are just a few tips when hiring a photographer! Photographers want to be asked questions and hate to be left on read. We would rather hear a no then nothing! Hope this helps!
